The Grigol Robakidze University, from December 25, 2023, announces a competition for academic positions in the following directions:

  1. For the academic position of a professor, a person with a doctor’s degree or an equivalent academic degree, with at least 6 years of scientific and pedagogical experience, can be elected for a period of 5 (five) years.
  2. For the position of associate professors, for a period of 5 (five) years, a person with a doctor’s degree or an equivalent academic degree, with at least 3 years of scientific and pedagogical experience, may be elected.
  3. A person with a doctor’s academic degree or equivalent can be elected to the position of assistant professor for a period of 4 (four) years.
  4. A doctoral candidate can be elected to the academic position of an assistant for a period of 3 (three) years.

It is possible to hold the academic position of professor, associate professor, assistant professor, or assistant, according to the rules of open competition, as well as on professional grounds.

In order to be elected to an academic position on a professional basis, a candidate must meet the following requirements/criteria: a person who has at least 6 years of experience working in a leading position in the relevant field, and at least 5 years of experience working as an associate professor in a professional field, can be elected as a professor. In both cases, their qualifications must be proven by special training and/or publications. A person with at least 4 years of experience in the relevant field and whose qualifications are proven by special training and/or publications may be elected as an assistant professor. A person who has at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field may be elected as an assistant.

The selection competition will be conducted on the basis of the analysis of the submitted documents and, if necessary (in order to clarify some aspects), an interview, a public lecture.

The competition for professor, associate professor, assistant professor, assistant, for the academic position, is based on the following criteria/indicators:

  • Scientific academic degree;
  • Work experience;
  • Doctoral student supervision / reviewership;
  • Experience of working in an administrative/academic position;
  • Additional academic responsibilities/functions (programme leadership, department leadership, study discipline leadership, student scientific association leadership/individual scientific leadership (including preparation of a scientific report at the undergraduate level); academic council membership, dissertation council/commission membership, etc.);
  • Professional development (trainings, seminars…);
  • Grant research project
  • Monograph/manual/scientific article (in local and/or international publications);
  • Citation index
  • Participation in international and/or local academic/scientific forums;
  • Membership of an international and/or local academic/scientific organization;
  • Participation in the work of governmental/non-governmental temporary/permanent commissions

In reviewing applicant data, preference will be given to those who consent to be affiliated with the University.

In order to determine the suitability of candidates for the position of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and assistant, the contestants must submit

a) Statement in the name of the competition commission;

b) A copy of the identity card;

c) Autobiography – CV (electronic version), with an attachment of relevant documents confirming the information included in the CV;

d) Two photographs;

e) A copy of documents confirming education, and relevant academic degree; (a document issued in the manner established by the legislation of the recognition of the education and/or scientific degree received in a foreign country, if any);

f) Annotation of implemented grant/research projects indicating the contact information of the grantor (if any);

g) A document confirming at least 6 years of pedagogical and scientific work for holding the academic position of a professor;

h) A document confirming at least 3 years of pedagogical and scientific work for holding the academic position of associate professor;

i) A document proving work experience (certificate, etc.)

j) Proof of English language proficiency (for an English-language programme) that demonstrates a sufficient level of language competence to ensure the full conduct of the lecture course.

k) Notice of conviction with reference to the relevant legal basis

The deadline for submission of documents is determined from January 29, 2024 to February 6, 2024

The results will be published on February 13, 2024, on the university website www.gruni.edu.ge

Competition documents are accepted at the Human Resources Management Service of Grigol Robakidze University every day, except weekends, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is possible to send the documentation electronically
