Trading Center of Grigol Robakidze University hosts pupils (the second call)

On December 19, 20, and 22, an “Introductory stock exchange trading course” was held for students of the school under the organization of the student investment fund at the Business and Management School of Grigol Robakidze University. Through a series of hands-on activities, participants learned about the stock market, financial decision-making, and trading dynamics; On the spot, they saw how shares of well-known companies (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Tesla, etc.) are traded, got to know the New York Stock Exchange, traded in the demo version and saw how the market is analyzed.

At the first meeting, the students got to know what the stock market is, securities, how shares are bought and sold there, why companies put shares up for sale, how and why share prices change, etc.

At the second meeting, the participants learned how to search for information, predict the price of shares, analyze the market, what economic and political factors affect the price, and when to buy/sell a share.

Participants traded as a team on the third day of the demo version. Their task was to observe the change in the value of gold and carry out appropriate transactions. The teams had a virtual budget of $10,000 and their goal was to increase that amount. At the end of the competition, three winning teams were identified:

  1. Guram Tsivadze, Tsotne Sherazadishvili, Nini Sisvadze, 29th school;
  2. Tata Khvedelidze, Lela Kveniashvili, 175th school;
  3. Luka Chaduneli, Oto Kakhidze, 29th school.

The student investment fund at Grigol Robakidze University’s School of Business and Management continues to hold similar events to raise pupils’ financial literacy levels.
